Our client is seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Superintendent to lead daily field operations on highway, utility, and heavy civil construction projects throughout New Jersey.

This role is responsible for field crews, equipment, materials, production, schedule, quality, and jobsite safety. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of heavy civil field leadership experience and understands how to run self-performed construction work efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily heavy civil, highway, and utility construction activities.
• Lead field crews and coordinate labor, equipment, and materials.
• Maintain project schedules and drive daily field productivity.
• Ensure work meets project quality requirements.
• Enforce jobsite safety standards and safe work practices.
• Oversee self-performed construction activities.
• Coordinate field resources and resolve production issues.
• Monitor progress and keep field operations moving efficiently.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience supervising heavy civil, highway, utility, or infrastructure construction.
• Experience directly managing field crews, equipment, and materials.
• Strong understanding of construction scheduling, field productivity, quality, and safety.
• Self-perform construction experience preferred.
• Stable work history with limited unnecessary job changes.
• Ability to work full-time in the field in the Jersey City, New Jersey area.
