Project Manager – Corporate Interiors

Location: Manhattan, NY

Salary: $160,000–$220,000 + Benefits

Allegiance Group is working with an established General Contractor in Manhattan to recruit an experienced Project Manager specialising in corporate interior construction.

Our client has built a strong presence in the commercial interiors market, delivering high-quality office fit-outs and corporate spaces. They are looking for a driven Project Manager to oversee projects from preconstruction through to final closeout, ensuring every stage is delivered efficiently, within budget and to the highest standards.

This is a hands-on opportunity for a Project Manager who can take full ownership of project delivery, manage multiple stakeholders and keep programmes on track. You’ll play a key role in coordinating clients, subcontractors, consultants and internal teams, identifying potential challenges early and ensuring projects run smoothly from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee corporate interior construction projects from initial planning and preconstruction through to completion and closeout.
  • Establish and manage project budgets, schedules, cost forecasts and procurement strategies.
  • Coordinate closely with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers and internal project teams.
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, contracts and scopes of work to ensure project requirements are clearly understood.
  • Manage the bidding process, subcontractor procurement, contract administration, RFIs, submittals and change orders.
  • Track project performance against budget, schedule and quality expectations, addressing risks and resolving issues proactively.
  • Chair project meetings and communicate progress, key milestones and potential challenges to relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with site teams to maintain compliance with safety requirements, contractual obligations and quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and project partners throughout the construction process.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience managing commercial construction projects, preferably corporate interiors or office fit-outs.
  • Previous experience working for a General Contractor.
  • Strong understanding of commercial interior construction, contract administration, scheduling, budgeting and cost management.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, technical specifications and contract documentation.
  • Proven ability to coordinate subcontractors, consultants and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Experience delivering projects within Manhattan or the wider New York City market is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, leadership and problem-solving abilities.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Takes a proactive, hands-on approach to managing projects and driving results.
  • Can confidently manage competing priorities and make effective decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintains a strong focus on safety, quality and accountability.
  • Builds effective working relationships with clients, subcontractors and project teams.
  • Identifies potential issues early and develops practical, commercially sound solutions.
  • Has a proven track record of delivering successful, high-quality commercial interior projects.

What's on Offer?

  • Competitive salary of $160,000–$220,000.
  • Health insurance.
  • 401(k) retirement plan.
  • Paid time off (PTO).
  • Discretionary bonus.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Project Manager to take the lead on corporate interior projects across Manhattan, working with an established General Contractor and contributing to the delivery of high-quality commercial spaces.
