About this opportunity
Marwood Group advises private equity sponsors, investors and healthcare operators on strategy, operational diligence, and performance improvement. Our Performance Improvement practice helps healthcare organizations find and capture margin, from pre-close operational diligence through post-close value creation.
The Vice President leads engagements inside our project teams. You will own day-to-day delivery and the client relationship on each project, manage the analysts and associates doing the work, and answer to a Director who holds practice-level P&L and strategy. This is a hands-on project leadership seat, not a standalone executive role.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead performance improvement and operational diligence engagements end to end, from scoping and workplan through final deliverables
- Own project-level economics, including budget, staffing, timeline, and margin, and keep engagements on scope
- Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for client executives and PE sponsors, presenting findings and recommendations to C-suite and deal teams
- Identify and size EBITDA improvement opportunities across revenue cycle, labor and productivity, cost structure, payer mix and service line economics
- Direct and review the financial and operational analysis behind each recommendation, including models that support valuation, value creation plans and implementation tracking
- Manage, coach, and develop analysts and associates on each engagement, with clear ownership of work quality
- Contribute to business development through proposals, scoping conversations, and follow-on work with existing clients
How the Role Is Measured
- Client utilization target of roughly 80 to 85 percent
- Delivery against project budget and margin
- Quality and client impact of recommendations, including follow-on and repeat work
- Development of the team members staffed on your engagements
Qualifications
- Substantial experience in management consulting or advisory work, including project leadership at the Manager, Senior Manager, Principal or Director level
- Healthcare industry experience across providers, physician groups, services, or payers
- Strong financial acumen: comfortable building and pressure-testing operating models, EBITDA bridges, cash flow, and value creation analyses
- Track record of leading client-facing teams and presenting to senior executives
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA or relevant graduate degree preferred
Preferred Experience
- Work with PE sponsors or portfolio companies on diligence, integration, or post-close value creation
- Quantified results in cost takeout, revenue cycle, labor productivity, or margin improvement
- Experience at a healthcare-focused or transaction-oriented advisory firm
