This is an ideal assignment for an independent, skilled technologist who thrives in a fast-paced ambulatory environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hybrid SPECT/CT Operation: Operate hybrid SPECT/CT instrumentation to conduct high-precision cross-sectional anatomical localization (e.g., parathyroid imaging, orthopedic evaluations).
  • Cardiac Stress Lab Support: Coordinate seamlessly with the nursing team and cardiac stress lab to support nuclear cardiology protocols and acquisition workflows.
  • Diagnostic Endocrine Studies: Perform low-dose diagnostic thyroid uptake and imaging (e.g., I-123). (Note: Facility does not perform high-dose radiopharmaceutical therapies.)
  • IV Access & Radiopharmaceutical Handling: Independently initiate peripheral IV access, perform phlebotomy/blood draws when required, and administer diagnostic radiotracers adhering strictly to ALARA radiation safety standards.
  • Regulatory Compliance & Radiation Safety: Conduct daily survey meter sweeps, ambient wipe testing, isotope inventory reconciliation, and room breakdown/decontamination in compliance with NYSDOH and NRC standards.
  • Workflow & Documentation: Maintain smooth patient throughput, cover lunch rotations, collaborate with multidisciplinary staff, and complete all scan archiving and reporting documentation within PACS/EMR prior to shift end.

Required Qualifications:

  • Life Support: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers (AHA or ARC).
  • Clinical Skills: Proven expertise in peripheral IV placement, phlebotomy, and hot lab quality control.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Instrumentation: Hands-on experience with modern Siemens SPECT/CT platforms (e.g., Symbia Intevo or Pro.spect series).
  • Systems: Prior working experience with Fujifilm Synapse (Fuji RIS/PACS).
  • Experience Level: 1+ years of post-graduate outpatient imaging experience preferred (exceptional new graduates with strong clinical rotations on hybrid camera platforms are welcome to apply).
  • Bilingual Skills: Fluency in an Asian language (e.g., Mandarin, Cantonese, or Korean) is a strong asset for the local patient demographic.

Ideal Personal Attributes

  • Autonomous & Self-Directed: Confident working as the primary on-site imaging technologist during mid/late-shift operational windows.
  • Fast-Paced Adaptability: Ready to hit the ground running with minimal camera ramp-up time.
  • Empathetic Bedside Manner: Warm, reassuring demeanor to support patients through multi-phase and delayed-uptake examinations.
