About this opportunity
We are working on behalf of a busy, well-established small animal hospital in Brooklyn, NY that is looking to welcome an experienced Associate Veterinarian to its collaborative doctor team.
This is a great fit for a DVM who loves the pace and variety of urgent care but wants predictable daytime hours, with no overnights, no on-call, and no holiday work. The hospital provides comprehensive care for dogs and cats, from wellness and preventive visits through sick appointments, daytime urgent care, dentistry, and surgery. Doctors typically see 16 to 18 patients a day in 30-minute appointments, backed by a 3:1 support staff to doctor ratio. Surgery is not required, though routine procedures are available if you enjoy them.
The hospital is well equipped with ultrasound, digital and dental radiography, in-house diagnostics, therapeutic laser, EKG, and echocardiography. The doctors here genuinely work as a team, discussing cases, sharing ideas, and leaning on one another, with strong partnerships across the technician, assistant, and client service teams. The schedule is 32 to 36 hours across four shifts per week, including rotating Saturdays, and the hospital is closed on Sundays. Compensation is a $160,000 to $180,000 base plus 20% production with no negative accrual for the first 12 months, and high performers can earn more than $250,000 a year.
Emergency or urgent care experience is a real plus, but experienced doctors from other clinical backgrounds are very welcome to apply.
