Property Accountant (Yardi)

A national institutional real estate investment manager is growing its in-house property management and accounting team in downtown Chicago. The portfolio is specialized commercial real estate, mostly technology and life science buildings, and it just grew again with new acquisitions.

This seat owns the books for a set of those properties from end to end. You will work in Yardi Voyager, partner with the property managers every day, and help build cleaner, faster processes as the portfolio scales. It is a real runway role for someone who wants to grow into accounting leadership.

What you'll own

• Full-cycle property accounting for your own portfolio in Yardi Voyager
• Monthly, quarterly, and annual GAAP financial statements for each asset
• CAM and operating expense reconciliations and tenant recoveries
• Cash, bank, and disbursement reconciliations, including debt service
• Monthly reporting packages for the fund management team
• Budget and forecast support with variance explanations
• Audit and tax support for property and fund entities
• Onboarding new properties into the system as deals close

What you bring

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• 1+ years of accounting experience, ideally property or real estate
• Hands-on Yardi Voyager experience
• Solid GL, reconciliation, and month-end close skills
• Strong Excel and clear written communication

Nice to have

• Commercial or institutional real estate background
• CAM reconciliation experience
• CPA or on the CPA path
• Public accounting or audit exposure

Details

• Hybrid: in office Monday to Thursday, downtown Chicago
• $70,000 - $85,000 base plus annual bonus
• Daily lunch credit and a monthly gym stipend
