Staff Accountant

Our client is a well-established and growing organization in Denver seeking a Staff Accountant to join its accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys a hands-on role and wants to work in a dynamic, operationally focused environment.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and experience in an industry with similar accounting complexities, such as construction, mining, manufacturing, distribution, inventory, engineering, or another project-based/operations-driven environment.

What You’ll Do

• Perform general ledger accounting and maintain accurate financial records
• Prepare and post journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
• Prepare and analyze financial reports and account activity
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and research discrepancies
• Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other transactional accounting functions as needed
• Support inventory accounting, job costing, project accounting, or cost accounting activities
• Work closely with operations and other departments to ensure accurate financial information
• Assist with audits, reporting, and other accounting projects
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
• 2+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Experience in construction, mining, manufacturing, distribution, inventory, engineering, or a similar industry preferred
• Strong understanding of debits/credits, general ledger accounting, and reconciliations
• Experience with month-end close and financial statement preparation
• Strong Excel skills and comfort working with large amounts of financial data
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating with a broader accounting and operations team
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
