THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Senior Accountant who takes pride in accurate financial reporting, follows through on commitments, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

This is a hands-on role responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing journal entries and reconciliations, supporting financial reporting, and completing month-end and year-end close activities. Working closely with our finance leadership and accounting team, you will also support budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and external audit and tax preparation with Plante Moran.

The ideal candidate brings strong accounting fundamentals, sound judgment, and a proactive approach to resolving discrepancies and improving processes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Month-End and Year-End Close: Prepare journal entries, complete balance sheet reconciliations, maintain supporting schedules, and meet established close deadlines.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare financial statements and supporting reports; investigate variances and communicate findings to finance leadership.
  • Transaction Accuracy: Review and reconcile accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipts, credit card activity, and payroll entries to ensure proper coding and recording.
  • Revenue and Expense Recognition: Ensure revenue, expenses, accruals, and prepaid balances are recorded accurately and in the appropriate periods.
  • Cash Management: Reconcile bank and investment accounts, monitor balances, and assist with cash flow forecasting.
  • Budget Support: Assist with preparing and monitoring departmental, project, and company budgets, including analysis of actual results against budget.
  • Audit and Tax Support: Prepare schedules and documentation requested by Plante Moran for audits and tax filings, and assist with follow-up inquiries.
  • Accounting Standards and Controls: Apply GAAP, maintain clear supporting documentation, and help strengthen internal controls and accounting procedures.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve the use of Sage Intacct, BILL, Expensify, and other financial tools.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues across the company to resolve accounting questions, obtain documentation, and meet reporting deadlines.
  • Administrative Support: Assist with payroll-related accounting, state registrations, and other finance and accounting needs as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Five or more years of progressive accounting experience, including hands-on responsibility for month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including lookup functions and pivot tables.
  • Experience with Sage Intacct strongly preferred; familiarity with BILL and Expensify a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Excellent organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with colleagues across departments.
  • A proactive mindset, strong accountability, and discretion when handling confidential information.
  • CPA certification or progress toward certification a plus.

Total annual compensation, including base salary and bonus opportunity, ranges from $100,000 to $120,000, commensurate with experience.

Cuvée offers a comprehensive benefits package, including 401(k) matching, health, dental, vision, and additional benefits.
