About this opportunity

Transportation Litigation Attorney | Baltimore, MD (Hybrid or Remote) | $100,000 to $215,000

Monday morning, the Beltway. A tractor trailer crosses the median.

By lunchtime, someone has asked for the dashcam footage, the ELD data and the driver’s hours. By close of business, the spoliation letter is out and a reconstructionist is booked to walk the scene.

Picture the lawyer behind all of that. They knew what to ask for before anyone else had thought to.

That early response is a big part of what this team does. I’m recruiting transportation litigators for the Baltimore office of a national Am Law 100 firm. Their attorneys represent leading transportation and logistics companies in serious injury, property damage and casualty matters. Trucks, but also ships and aircraft. They’ve taken client matters all the way to the US Supreme Court.

The sweet spot is 3 to 7 years, though they’ll talk to any level. That’s why the range is wide: they’re hiring at two levels. Associates sit in a $100,000 to $165,000 band, more experienced attorneys at senior counsel level in a $140,000 to $215,000 band. Discretionary and performance based bonuses, student loan repayment assistance, full benefits. Remote and hybrid are both options.

The work

  • Cases you run from the first call, with minimal supervision.
  • High stakes injury, property damage and casualty claims for transportation and logistics clients.
  • Live guidance to clients while the accident investigation is still running.

You’ll need

  • An active Maryland license.
  • Strong writing, research and analysis, backed by a solid academic record.
  • Trial experience if you have it. They’ll consider you without it.
  • A steady head when a client calls on the worst day of their quarter.

The plaintiff’s preservation letter arrives on Thursday. By then, every piece of evidence is already safe.
