I’m a recruiter at Distinct Recruitment. My client is a national firm with more than offices across statewide, and its Workers’ Compensation group in Baltimore needs an associate. The firm calls it an immediate opening, so the process should move quickly.
Why the range is wide
- $105,000 to $165,000. They’ll hire anywhere from 1 to 5 years, so the band covers two levels: an associate a year or two in toward the lower end, and someone close to five years who already runs a hearing docket toward the top.

What you’ll actually do
- Defend Maryland workers’ compensation claims, with Commission hearings at the center of your week.
- Work on several stages of each matter, so you see a claim from more than one angle.
- Sit on key client teams. You’ll know the client by name, and they’ll know yours.
- Learn inside a group that builds mentoring into how it works.

- Admission to the Maryland bar.
- 1 to 5 years of workers’ compensation experience.
- A calm voice for an employer facing their first comp claim.
