About this opportunity
Senior Tax Accountant | Tyler, TX | $90,000 to $120,000
Tired of the Tollway eating your evenings? In Tyler $90,000 to $120,000 goes a lot further, the drive home is shorter, and you won't be preparing the same return three hundred times.
This well established CPA firm started during the East Texas oil boom and has been here ever since. Some of the families you'd work with have been clients since their grandparents ran the business, and that kind of loyalty usually says something about how people are treated inside the firm.
With around 130 people across three Texas offices, it's big enough for real resources and small enough that you'll know the partners by name. It's also part of an international accounting association, so multistate and cross border work turns up without you having to move to Dallas or Houston.
What's on offer
- $90,000 to $120,000
- Real variety: oil and gas, healthcare, manufacturing, construction, restaurants, nonprofits and family wealth
- PTO that grows the longer you stay, paid CPE and firm paid memberships
- An incentive bonus and a mentoring program
- Still finishing the CPA? They'll pay for study materials and help you get it done
- 401(k), medical, dental and vision insurance
What your week looks like
- Preparing and reviewing returns for businesses, individuals, trusts and nonprofits (1120, 1120S, 1065, 1040, 1041, 990)
- Tax planning and projections, the part most of us got into tax for
- Being the person clients call, not just the one who did the workpapers
- Reviewing staff work and showing them how you'd approach it
- Working with managers and partners who'll be straight with you about your next step
Who fits well here
- Three or more years of tax experience in US public accounting
- CPA or EA licensed, or on the way
- Confident with business returns across a mix of entity types
- You enjoy knowing your clients, and they enjoy knowing you
If a shorter commute and a firm that keeps its clients for generations sounds good, let's have a confidential chat before you apply.
