About this opportunity
Government Contracts Associate (Mid Level) | Washington, DC (Hybrid) | $310,000 to $365,000
The award goes to the other bidder on a Thursday. By Monday the client wants to know if there's a protest. You're the associate who already has the answer drafted.
I'm recruiting a mid level government contracts associate for the Washington, DC office of a global law firm. They want someone at 4 to 5 years who has served as lead associate and is ready to keep doing it.
The work
- Bid protests and claims litigation.
- Investigations and compliance counseling.
- M&A due diligence where government contracts are part of the deal.
- Hearings, depositions and negotiations. You'll be in the room for them.
- Research and writing that ends up in briefs and motions.
Who fits
- 4 to 5 years in a firm's government contracts practice, or the equivalent handling procurement issues for a federal agency. Agency experience counts.
- Experience as lead associate on government contracts litigation, diligence or investigations.
- A clerkship with the US Court of Federal Claims, the Federal Circuit or a Board of Contract Appeals is preferred. So is govcon coursework. Neither is required.
- A JD and admission to the DC bar.
The package
- $310,000 to $365,000. Where you land depends on your market and your experience.
- Hybrid, with a regular office presence and some flexibility to work from home.
- Medical, dental and vision insurance plus a 401(k).
