Sound like most weeks? Then this is your job.
Who's hiring?
I'm recruiting for a mid size firm with offices across the Mid Atlantic and Midwest, including DC and Baltimore. Their Business practice wants a technology transactions associate at 4 to 7 years, with 4 to 6 the sweet spot. Law firm or in house experience both count.
What would you actually do?
- Draft and negotiate SaaS, cloud services, software licensing, implementation, platform integration and professional services agreements.
- Advise on ecommerce launches: vendor onboarding, payment processing, merchant services, platform policy.
- Handle technology and IP licensing, commercialization deals and strategic partnerships.
- Prepare data processing agreements and advise on privacy policies, data security terms and risk allocation.
- Fix the templates and the contracting playbook so the next deal closes faster.
- Review distribution, logistics and supply chain agreements. Government contracts and international commercial work is a plus.
Why move?
- You work directly with business teams. Your job is to keep the deal moving.
- One on one career coaching and a development program built around advancement.
- Discretionary and hours based bonuses on top of salary. Bill more, earn more.
What does the money look like?
- $187,000 to $360,000. They're hiring across two levels, mid and senior, so a four year associate and a seven year associate land in very different places. Ask me where you'd sit.
- Medical, dental, vision and retirement plans.
What do you need?
- A JD from an accredited law school with strong academics.
- An active license in the state of the office you join.
- Experience supporting software, SaaS, ecommerce, technology or commercial clients.
- Comfort making a practical call when the answer isn't clear cut.
- Permanent authorization to work in the United States.
