Operational Specialist

I’m working with a specialty insurance carrier that’s adding to its operations team, and I’m looking for someone who’s good with numbers and enjoys making processes run more smoothly.

At its core, the job is about following the money. You’ll work out what each partner owes, what’s owed back, and when it all needs to move. You’ll be working with MGAs, reinsurers and claims administrators, and reporting into a senior operations leader.

Responsibilities:

• Work through program data to calculate funding and settlement amounts
• Keep premium, claims and fee balances reconciled and accurate
• Keep an eye on account balances so programs stay properly funded

You’ll likely bring:

• 3+ years in insurance operations or a similar finance-focused role
• Confident, everyday Excel skills (formulas, shortcuts, reconciliations)
• A naturally analytical, numbers-first way of thinking (no accounting qualification needed)
• Curiosity about improving processes, not just following them
• The ability to build solid working relationships inside and outside the business

Bonus points for:

• Claims knowledge
• Banking or treasury experience
• Exposure to MGA or program business
