About this opportunity

We are exclusively partnering with a growing, privately held company in Charlotte to hire a Staff Accountant for its corporate shared-services accounting team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career accounting professional looking to build a foundation in corporate accounting and grow into broader general ledger and month-end close responsibilities.

I've personally helped build out this finance team and know the leadership well. It's a fantastic group with a supportive, collaborative environment and a clear path for career growth.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Manage daily cash application, including ACH, wire transfers, checks, and credit card payments.
  • Reconcile customer payments, bank deposits, and general ledger accounts.
  • Research and resolve unapplied cash, payment discrepancies, and account variances.
  • Prepare consolidated accounts receivable aging reports and support corporate reporting.
  • Assist with month-end close activities and account reconciliations.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and reconciliations.
  • Partner with accounting, billing, and other departments to resolve discrepancies.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.

What We're Looking For

  • 1–3 years of accounting, accounts receivable, or cash application experience.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience with an ERP system; Sage Intacct is a plus.
  • Intermediate Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a willingness to learn.
  • Interest in developing broader general accounting and month-end close experience.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

  • Clear career progression into broader Staff Accountant and Senior Accountant responsibilities.
  • Exposure to corporate accounting across multiple operating markets.
  • Opportunity to develop general ledger, reconciliation, reporting, and audit skills.
  • Supportive leadership team that values professional development.
  • Hybrid schedule with three days in the office.
  • Growing organization with opportunities to expand your responsibilities.

Benefits package available, including health insurance, paid time off, and additional employee benefits.

Whether you're currently working in accounts receivable, cash application, or an entry-level accounting role, this could be a great opportunity to take the next step in your career.

This is an exclusive search, and I'd love to share more about the team and growth potential!
