About this opportunity
Front Desk Receptionist, Bankruptcy Law Firm
Full-time, 40 hours a week, in office, Monday through Friday
About the role
Our bankruptcy law firm helps individuals and families get a fresh financial start through Chapter 7 and Chapter 13. Many of the people who call in are stressed, and you'll be their first contact with us. Most of our clients are remote and do not physically come in the office. We're looking for someone warm, organized, and discreet who can make them feel welcome and keep the front office running smoothly.
What you'll do
- Greet clients and visitors, and answer and route phone calls, voicemails, and general emails.
- Schedule consultations, signing appointments, and 341 meetings on the attorneys' calendars, and send reminders via our client management system.
- Collect basic information and documents such as pay stubs, tax returns, and bank statements
- Scan, label, and organize client documents in our case management system
- Take client payments, and keep payment records accurate
- Answer routine questions about appointments and what documents to bring. Send legal questions to an attorney or paralegal.
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail and keep the lobby and general office rooms tidy
- Support the paralegals and attorneys with other office tasks as needed
What we're looking for
- We prefer one or more years of receptionist, front desk, or customer service experience. Law office experience is a plus but not required, because we'll train you.
- A calm, friendly, professional manner on the phone and in person, including with upset callers
- Strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to juggle several tasks at once
- Comfort with Microsoft Office, email, and learning new software
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus with potential incentive pay
Pay and benefits
- $17 to $20 per hour, depending on experience
- A 401(k) with a 100% employer match on the first 4% of pay, vested after 6 months of work.
- PTO available after 6 months of work.
