Real Estate Associate (5th – 8th Year) | New York

A leading global law firm is looking for a mid-to-senior real estate associate to join its growing US commercial real estate practice in New York.

This is a role for someone ready to own deals. You would run commercial real estate transactions from start to closing, working directly with partners and clients rather than sitting at the edge of a large team.

The work

• Commercial real estate financings, including mortgage, mezzanine and construction loans
• Acquisitions and dispositions, joint ventures, leasing, and development and construction matters
• Drafting and negotiating loan documents, purchase and sale agreements, JV agreements and leases

The clients

Private equity funds, investment banks, operators and developers, pension funds, REITs and sovereign wealth funds. Deals are increasingly cross-border and heavily structured, and the firm’s strength in finance means you see the full capital stack.

What they’re looking for

• 6 to 8 years of commercial real estate experience, with financing work a core part of it
• Strong drafting and analytical skills, and the organisation to manage several matters and people at once
• Strong academics
• Admission to the New York bar
