About this opportunity
Commercial Real Estate Attorney | Charlotte, NC | $160,000 to $260,000
- 1,800 to 1,900 billable hours. That’s the target.
- The firm wants the hours you’re not billing spent with developers, lenders and investors. Turning them into your clients is the job.
- If you’ve spent years closing deals on someone else’s relationships, this is where the relationships start being yours.
Who I’m hiring for
- I’m Clark Pollins at Distinct Recruitment. I’m recruiting for a Charlotte law firm adding an experienced commercial real estate attorney.
- They want a deal lawyer who also wants a practice.
Two levels, one range
- Around $130,000: an associate with three or more years who already runs transactions without a safety net and wants that to lead somewhere.
- Up to $260,000: an attorney who brings established client relationships or portable work.
- Your deal experience and your client base decide where you land.
The work
- Acquisitions and dispositions, from letter of intent to funded closing.
- Real estate finance, taking loan documents from first draft to signed closing set.
- Land development agreements that have to hold up through years of approvals and phases.
- Commercial leasing for landlords and tenants.
- Client contact from your first week. You’re the one on the phone.
The detail most people miss
- The firm has a nationally ranked real estate litigation team working alongside you.
- When a deal turns into a dispute, you walk it over to colleagues you trust. The client stays with you.
- That changes how clients see you. You’re not just the closing lawyer. You’re the lawyer with a team behind them when things go sideways.
How you’ll work
- Hybrid. You and the team set how your week splits, from day one.
What you’ll bring
- Three or more years on complex commercial real estate transactions.
- Licensed in North Carolina.
- Comfort running a deal start to finish without someone checking every page.
- A real interest in building a book. Existing clients help. Appetite counts too.
