$95k to $150k + bonus | Chicago | Hybrid

What if your next move gave you more say in how a firm grows, as well as how your own career develops?

I’m working with the Founder of a growing, cloud based CPA firm in downtown Chicago who is making his first permanent hire.

This could suit a Senior Tax Associate ready for more responsibility, or someone in their first few years as a Manager who wants to work closely with clients and have more influence over how things are done.

The firm supports international businesses setting up and operating in the US, with a large proportion of clients coming from France. Many are growing businesses across tech, AI and biotech, establishing US subsidiaries and navigating the requirements that come with them.

You’ll focus primarily on inbound international tax compliance, including:

• Forms 1120, 5471 and 5472
• GILTI
• FBAR
• Multi state compliance
• Supporting foreign owned US entities

You’ll work directly with the Founder and clients, getting to know their businesses and becoming someone they turn to with questions.

Your background could be purely tax, or a combination of tax and accounting. Either could work here.

Why join at this stage?

As the first permanent hire, you’ll have a voice in how the firm develops. That includes the systems they use, how they work with clients and, as the business grows, bringing more people into the team.

The Founder plans to add junior support, giving you the opportunity to build your management experience alongside your technical and client skills.

Several years down the line, the aim is for this person to become his right hand. There’s scope to progress towards Senior Manager and Director, with potential for equity as the firm develops.

You don’t need to be ready for all of that today. This is about joining with the experience to contribute now and room to grow into more.

What would suit you here?

You enjoy speaking with clients, taking ownership and staying involved in preparing the work yourself.

With a small team, you’ll need to be comfortable getting involved wherever you’re needed. In return, you’ll have direct access to the Founder and the chance to see much more of running a practice.

• Downtown Chicago
• Ideally 2 to 3 days per week in the office
• Generous PTO offering
• CPA preferred at Manager level, with EA also considered
• US work authorization required now and in the future without sponsorship
