About this opportunity

One Decision is hiring a Senior Booking Producer to secure high-profile guests for our weekly geopolitics interview show.

This is a part-time role for an experienced booker with strong relationships, sound editorial judgment, and a proven ability to reach senior figures in politics, national security, business, and technology.

Commitment: Approximately 20 hours per week.

Location: Remote, with reliable overlap with London and New York working hours.

Compensation: Up to $6,000 per month, depending on experience and track record.

Reports to: Managing Editor.

ABOUT ONE DECISION

One Decision is anchored by Sir Richard Dearlove, former chief of MI6, alongside co-host John Raine, former UK diplomat and IISS fellow. We publish on YouTube and the major podcast platforms.

Previous guests include Boris Johnson, Marco Rubio, Ehud Olmert, David Petraeus, Stanley McChrystal, Chrystia Freeland, Mohamed El-Erian, Fareed Zakaria, Geoffrey Hinton, Garry Kasparov, Christiane Amanpour, and Steven Soderbergh.

Our interviews help audiences understand the people, decisions, and forces shaping global affairs. We seek guests who can offer substantive insight and sustain an engaging, extended conversation.

THE ROLE

You will take primary responsibility for guest booking, working closely with the Managing Editor to turn editorial priorities into confirmed interviews.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Secure high-profile guests across politics, intelligence, national security, economics, business, and technology.

• Build and maintain a rolling target list aligned with the editorial calendar.

• Identify the best route to each guest, whether through direct outreach, chiefs of staff, communications teams, agents, or institutional contacts.

• Own the booking process from initial approach through confirmation, briefing coordination, and scheduling.

• Balance longer-term bookings with timely opportunities arising from the news cycle.

• Maintain relationships after interviews to encourage repeat appearances and introductions.

• Keep clear, current records of contacts, conversations, and commitments.

Success in this role is measured in confirmed, high-quality bookings.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• A demonstrated track record of personally securing interviews or appearances with senior, hard-to-reach figures.

• An established network of relevant contacts, including the people who manage access to prominent guests.

• Familiarity with the foreign policy and national security communities in Washington, London, and Brussels. Connections in business and technology are also highly valued.

• Strong editorial judgment about who would make a compelling guest for a long-form interview.

• Excellent written communication and the professionalism to represent the show to senior figures.

• Persistence, initiative, and confidence with cold outreach.

• The organization to manage multiple conversations and booking timelines simultaneously.

Relevant backgrounds include broadcast news booking, podcast guest production, think tank or conference programming, speakers bureaus, and political staff work.

HOW WE WORK

Episodes are generally recorded on Mondays and Tuesdays and released on Thursdays, although the schedule may change. Much of your work will involve developing bookings several weeks ahead, with occasional faster turnarounds when timely opportunities arise.

Our team uses Google Workspace, Slack, and Trello.

• Examples of high-profile guests you personally booked and how you secured them.

• Three people you think One Decision should interview, and how you would approach reaching each of them.

• Your availability for an approximately 20-hour weekly commitment.
