  • Prepare and maintain work-in-progress reports, contract and change-order tracking, and project profitability analyses.
  • Oversee installation, recurring rental, additional-work, and dismantling billing; reconcile invoices against contracts and operational schedules.
  • Monitor receivables, lead collection efforts, and resolve billing discrepancies with customers and internal staff.
  • Prepare cash-flow forecasts, budgets, and financial projections to support operating needs and equipment purchases.
  • Review payroll and labor allocations for accuracy.
  • Maintain appropriate accounting controls and improve financial workflows.
  • Coordinate with the outside CPA on taxes, year-end reporting, and accounting matters.
  • Support insurance audits and other financial reporting requests.

Qualifications

  • Five or more years of progressive accounting experience, including responsibility as an Assistant Controller or Accounting Manager.
  • Strongly preferred experience in construction, scaffolding, equipment rental, or a similar project-based business.
  • Strong knowledge of job costing, WIP reporting, contract billing, and change orders.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel, AI (ChatGPT, Claude).
  • Experience managing staff and coordinating with operational teams.
  • Ability to manage both detailed accounting work and financial planning.
  • Strong organization, communication, and follow-through.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred;
  • Ability to work in our Queens office five days per week.
