About this opportunity
Audit Manager - Public Accounting - NYC (Hybrid)
A rare opportunity exists to join a mid-sized accounting firm that is among the smallest equity backed platform companies in the United States. In a landscape where scale often comes at the expense of individuality, this firm has managed to secure investment without losing the human touch.
Every team member participates in profit sharing, and those at Manager level and above have the option of a K1 allocation. It is a simple but powerful incentive. When people share in the upside, they think differently, they collaborate differently and they care differently.
We're looking for audit managers who have extensive financial services experience, particularly with hedge funds and broker dealer audits.
Work life balance is not an aspiration here, it is engineered directly into the model. The result is an environment where people can perform at a high level without the creeping dread of burnout. Off season and on season hours come with guidelines rather than commands, recognising that high quality work requires time to train staff, develop them and think clearly.
Schedules are flexible. People can be in the office often or rarely depending on what helps them do their best work. Despite this freedom, the firm maintains a robust client pipeline and the refined processes usually associated with much larger organisations.
Partners treat staff the way they would want to be treated, which sounds simple but is surprisingly rare. The culture that has emerged from this mindset is one they are proud of and keen to protect as the team grows.
In addition to profit sharing, the benefits package includes unlimited PTO, medical, a 401k with company contribution and support for education.
For someone who believes that incentives, autonomy and trust shape better work than strict targets and long hours, this is an unusually well designed place to build a career.

Here’s the thing about job applications. Many people overthink them. It’s easy to assume you need to tick every single box before applying, but that’s not how we work.

Worried you don’t check every single requirement? That’s absolutely fine. The CPA firms we work with value people who bring different perspectives and experience. At the end of the day, the worst-case scenario is simply a friendly conversation about your career. The best-case? Something genuinely exciting.
