About the Position

The Director of the Lower School (DLS) reports to the Head of School (HOS) and is a member of the School Leadership Team (SLT). The DLS leads a Lower School of about 87 students in PreSchool–Grade 4, helping them succeed in the modern world through academic excellence and character development. In partnership with the Division Director team, the DLS hires and trains new Lower School faculty and supervises and evaluates the 18+ Lower School faculty/staff members through observation and evaluation. The DLS manages the Lower School programs and policies, administers the Lower School budget, and the Lower School curriculum. Working with the Director of Admission and the Admission Committee, the DLS supports the admission of students who best match the criteria for admission to Far Hills. The DLS supports the school’s dynamic mission by advancing its strategic priorities, communicating effectively, and working collaboratively with all constituencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree; advanced degree preferred
• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in school administration and working with elementary-aged children
• Experience working with or teaching elementary school students
