About this opportunity
Litigation Attorney, General Liability Defense | Tampa, FL | $125,000 to $200,000 | General Liability
Incident reports are written in a hurry, by people who never expect a lawyer to read them. Good general liability defense starts with the attorney who does read them, line by line, before anyone else has formed a view.
That habit is what this Tampa role is built around.
I'm Ryan Jaiswal at Distinct Recruitment, recruiting a general liability defense attorney for an insurance defense firm with a busy Tampa practice.
The work
• Premises liability, negligent security, products and general negligence claims
• Early investigation: scene visits, incident reports, surveillance and witness interviews
• Depositions, hearings and mediations that you handle yourself
• Trial work, including first chair as you're ready
• Regular contact with adjusters and insured clients
Who it suits
• Florida Bar membership
• 2+ years of litigation experience
• An attorney who likes building a defense from facts rather than templates
The practical side
• Hybrid, Tampa
• 1,900 billable hours
• $125,000 to $200,000
The bigger picture
That range is deliberately wide, so a mid level attorney and a counsel level lawyer are both paid what they're worth. The more experience you bring, the more the role gives back: larger exposure files, first chair trials, supervising newer lawyers and client relationships that become your own, with a path to partner that's talked about openly.
Tampa is one of the busiest general liability markets in the state, which means steady volume and plenty of cases worth trying. With the right support around you, that's the fastest way to become the lawyer adjusters ask for by name.
