Role: Sr. Solution Architect – SAP, Enterprise Applications & Integration

Location: Hybrid at Greater Chicagoland Area, IL (Preferred)

Duration: 6+ months contract

Note: 3 days onsite (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Solution Architect to design and deliver end-to-end technology solutions within a complex, global enterprise environment.

The ideal candidate will bring strong solution architecture experience across SAP/ERP, enterprise applications, integration, data, cloud platforms, and business transformation initiatives.

This is a hands-on, delivery-focused architecture role requiring the ability to translate business needs into practical technology solutions, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and guide architecture decisions from initial design through implementation.

The role will support large-scale enterprise integration, modernization, and transformation programs involving multiple business functions, applications, and technology platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-End Solution Architecture: Design comprehensive solutions spanning business processes, enterprise applications, integration, data, security, infrastructure, and operations.
• Business & Technology Alignment: Work closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements, identify dependencies, and translate business objectives into scalable technical solutions.
• Enterprise Applications: Provide architectural direction across SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, enterprise SaaS platforms, and interconnected business systems.
• Integration Architecture: Evaluate application integrations, middleware, APIs, data flows, and cross-platform dependencies.
• Solution Design & Decision-Making: Develop architecture options, assess risks and trade-offs, and recommend practical approaches aligned with enterprise standards.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with enterprise architects, technical leads, functional consultants, infrastructure teams, security specialists, and implementation partners.
• Transformation & Modernization: Support enterprise integration, application rationalization, platform modernization, and complex business transformation initiatives.
• Architecture Governance: Maintain solution architecture documentation, design decisions, and architecture artifacts using tools such as LeanIX.
• Delivery Support: Remain actively involved throughout implementation and deployment, resolving significant architecture issues and ensuring solution alignment.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of overall IT experience, including 5+ years in Solution Architecture or senior technical design roles.
• Demonstrated experience designing and delivering end-to-end enterprise solutions in large, complex organizations.
• Strong understanding of SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA and their integration with enterprise applications.
• Broad technical knowledge across enterprise applications, APIs, middleware, data architecture, cloud infrastructure, and security.
• Experience supporting business processes across one or more areas such as:
• Supply Chain, Planning & Manufacturing
• Finance & Procurement
• Order Management & Distribution
• Sales, Customer Management & Commercial Operations
• Understanding of master data, transactional data, data ownership, and upstream/downstream system dependencies.
• Experience working with Azure and/or AWS enterprise environments.
• Ability to evaluate architecture alternatives, identify technical risks, and communicate solution trade-offs.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, visualization, and presentation skills.
• Proven ability to collaborate with business leaders, architects, technical teams, and external vendors.
• Experience supporting solutions through design, implementation, and deployment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in consumer packaged goods (CPG), manufacturing, retail, or global supply chain environments.
• Enterprise M&A integration, system consolidation, or large-scale transformation experience.
• SAP Master Data Governance (MDG).
• Salesforce or other enterprise SaaS applications.
• Trade Promotion Management, Retail Execution, and Order-to-Delivery processes.
• Application portfolio rationalization and enterprise modernization.
• LeanIX or similar architecture repository tools.
• ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM).
• Experience with global and regional deployments.
• Experience supporting both project-based and product-based delivery models.
