About this opportunity

Founding Account Executive

Sidera Labs is hiring its first salesperson to own every part of selling Nebula Swarm, from first cold email to signed contract. The role is commission only for now, at 20% of every deal with no cap, and full-time earnings are expected to reach $100,000+ a year.

Title: Founding Account Executive (Outbound)

Location: Remote (US), with preference for the Raleigh, Durham, RTP area of North Carolina

Type: Independent contractor, commission only. Part-time to start is fine.

Commission: 20% of contract value, uncapped

Expected earnings: $100,000+ a year at full-time effort

Reports to: The two co-founders

Team: You are the sales team

About Sidera Labs and Nebula Swarm

Sidera Labs builds Nebula Swarm, an agentic engineering harness that turns AI coding agents into a reliable software delivery team. It runs the full SDLC: planning (PRDs, architecture, task plans), building, testing, review and pull requests, with a human approving every merge.

  • Works with the tools teams already pay for. Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI and Copilot, plus GitHub, Jira and Confluence.
  • Built for teams, not solo hackers. Many engineers can run agents in the same repo without stepping on each other, across one repo or many.
  • Proven in production. We built it to run our own engineering at Deliveri, where it cut build time per task from about 15 hours to about 3.
  • Sold as a high-ticket rollout. We install it, train the team on site in 2 to 3 days, check in at day 15 and day 30, then leave. The client owns everything, on a perpetual license.

The opportunity

You will be our first and only salesperson, and you will own all of sales. There is no SDR team, no inherited pipeline, no sales ops and no playbook beyond the one you write. The founders are fully committed to product and delivery, so expect little direction and light support.

In return you get a proven product, a high price point and real ownership. The person who builds sales here from nothing is first in line to lead it once we can pay a base salary.

What you'll own

You carry every deal from first touch to signed contract and handoff to delivery.

  1. Build the pipeline yourself. Define target accounts, find the buyers, and run outbound by email, LinkedIn, phone, events and your own network.
  2. Run discovery with technical buyers. Lead conversations with CTOs, VPs of Engineering and engineering leads about how their team ships software today.
  3. Sell into the SDLC. Map Nebula Swarm onto the buyer's planning, build, test, review and release process, and show where it saves engineering time.
  4. Handle objections. Answer "we already have Copilot or Claude seats", "our engineers can build this themselves", security and data questions, and price pushback on a high-ticket deal.
  5. Close. Own proposals, pricing within founder-set limits, negotiation and the signed license agreement. Founding team will help close.
  6. Hand off cleanly. Brief the founders before each on-site rollout so delivery starts with the right context.
  7. Build the sales machine. Choose and run the CRM, write the playbook, track pipeline and forecast, and report results to the founders.
  8. Feed back to product. Bring what buyers say back to the founders to sharpen pricing, positioning and the website.

Who you are

Must have

  • 7+ years in B2B software sales, with a track record of closing five- and six-figure deals.
  • Experience selling developer tools, DevOps, platform or other software bought by engineering teams.
  • Comfortable in a room with a CTO. You speak their language and earn their respect.
  • A working understanding of the SDLC: requirements, sprints, code review, CI/CD, testing and releases.
  • Deep, current knowledge of AI and agentic engineering: LLMs, coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex and Copilot, agent frameworks, multi-agent systems, context management and how teams adopt them. You use these tools yourself.
  • Full-cycle ownership. You have opened, run and closed deals on your own, without an SDR or sales engineer.
  • Proof you have built something from nothing: a first sales hire, a new territory, a new product line or your own business.
  • A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced startup with little direction and light support.
  • Comfortable working independently on commission only until we can offer a base salary.

What sets you apart

  • An existing network of buyers. Relationships with CTOs, VPs of Engineering, founders or PE operating partners at software companies. We weigh this heavily.
  • Based in the Triangle. You live in the Raleigh, Durham, RTP area and have ties to its tech community: RTP companies, local startups, investors and meetups.
  • An engineering background, or past work as a sales engineer or solutions architect.
  • Experience selling high-ticket services or implementation engagements, not just self-serve software.
  • A degree in computer science, engineering or business, or equivalent experience.

Compensation

This role is commission only for now: 20% of every deal you close, with no cap. Nebula Swarm sells as a high-ticket rollout, so each deal pays well. A full-time seller should expect to earn $100,000+ a year, and top performers well beyond that.

  • Part-time is fine to start. Many strong candidates will begin alongside other work.
  • You work as an independent contractor and set your own hours.
  • We plan to add a base salary as revenue allows. Commission rate, payment timing and the move to salary will be set out in a written agreement.

Additional compensation

  • Commission — Not offered

The role is commission only for now, at 20% of every deal with no cap, and full-time earnings are expected to reach $100,000+ a year
