About this opportunity
Marketing Intern
ChaosTrack | Remote (US) | Part-Time Internship
About ChaosTrack
ChaosTrack is an AI-powered cybersecurity preparedness and incident response platform built for modern enterprises. We help security teams run tabletop exercises, simulate real-world breach scenarios, and automate incident response. We’re a fast-growing startup, and this is a ground-floor opportunity: you’ll be our first dedicated marketing hire, building the function from the ground up alongside our leadership team.
The Role
This is a hands-on marketing internship for someone hungry, driven, and excited to build. Because we’re starting our marketing function from scratch, you won’t be plugging into an existing playbook — you’ll be helping create it. Early on, you’ll execute against the direction set by our VP of Sales and Director of Business Operations, and as you prove yourself, you’ll have a growing voice in shaping our marketing strategy. We take a sales-first approach to marketing: everything we do is tied to driving pipeline and revenue.
You’ll work directly with our VP of Sales and Director of Business Operations, getting mentorship and exposure that’s hard to find in a larger, more siloed company.
What You’ll Do
- Create content for our blog, website, and LinkedIn
- Support product marketing efforts
- Help run marketing to current and prospective customers through our CRM and database (HubSpot)
- Create white papers and sales collateral (sales decks, one-pagers, etc.)
- Support the sales team with enablement materials
- Help manage our social media presence
- Create simple, clean design assets using tools like Canva or Figma
- Conduct competitive and market research on the cybersecurity landscape
- Track and report on what content and campaigns are actually driving results
Where This Role Can Grow
As you ramp and the function matures, there’s room to take on:
- Planning and organizing events
- LinkedIn Ads, Google Ads, and SEO
- Building, maintaining, and updating the website
- Supporting PR initiatives
- Email and newsletter campaign ownership
This role starts at 10–20 hours/week with the opportunity for more hours based on performance, and a clear path to grow into a full-time position.
What We’re Looking For
- Currently in college, grad school, or a recent graduate — this is an entry-level role
- Hungry, driven, and genuinely excited to build something from scratch
- A scrappy, resourceful self-starter who thrives with ambiguity and doesn’t need everything handed to them
- Strong writer — clear, compelling, and adaptable across formats
- A sales-first mindset — you understand marketing exists to drive revenue
- Background or strong interest in IT/cybersecurity and/or AI is preferred
- Comfort with AI tools and a willingness to use them to work faster and smarter
- Familiarity with HubSpot, Canva, or similar tools is a plus but not required — we’ll teach you
