About this opportunity

ABOUT US

From acceptance letter to offer letter, Causeway Careers helps college students find and land the work they want.

Entry-level hiring has changed. There are fewer openings, 3 times as many applicants per opening as in 2021, and AI is erasing the jobs that used to be the way in. Employers have stopped doing the teaching, so it has to happen earlier. Generic career advice cannot clear a bar that is moving quickly and differently in every industry.

Every student we enroll gets three things: One Textbook for their field, kept current by Mentors who work in it; One Coach, twice a month, for four years; and One Mentor Network that opens doors a student cannot open alone. We are enrolling our founding class now, with service starting in January, at a premium standard of care.

THE ROLE

We are hiring our first coach: the person who carries students, sets the standard for how coaching works here, and helps build the function every coach after them works inside. This is a build, not a run, and it grows into a Head of Coaching seat as we scale.

WHAT YOU’LL OWN

•  Your students.  Twice-monthly sessions from the discovery session through graduation. You build each student's syllabus from what discovery surfaces, and students who do not yet know what they want start in Exploratory.

•  The Textbook.  Revise your field's Textbook as the hiring bar moves, work Mentor feedback into it each semester, and adapt it to every student you coach.

•  What parents see.  Coach notes, student artifacts, and parent digests, held to a standard we would show any family, with the student's confidence protected.

•  Mentor conversations.  Prep students so the conversations land. Students get at least 2 a semester, and Mentors give us about 5 hours a year.

•  Coaching standards.  Help design how we hire, onboard, and evaluate coaches. You will be the first who has done the job here.

•  Enrollment.  Join calls with prospective families, and bring back what you hear.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

•  Firsthand industry knowledge.  You have worked in the field you will coach and know how its recruiting calendar and interview process actually run. Finance and Sports come first; Tech, AI, and Entertainment are also live.

•  A real point of view on careers.  Not a list of tips: a view on how someone gets from a sophomore internship to a career, and what to do when the obvious path closes.

•  You like this age group.  Not tolerate. Students tell the truth to people who are glad to see them, and coaching stops working without it.

•  Trust.  Follow-through and integrity, every time. This is the dealbreaker.

•  Patience with a startup.  Things will break mid-session. You adapt in the moment and do not dwell on it afterward.

•  Strong writing.  A large share of our product is written. The bar is high.

•  A plus:  deep relationships in your industry. Our Mentor Network is built from exactly those.

WHY THIS SEAT

You will be the first coach at Causeway, hired before there is a playbook to inherit, with a warm pipeline of families already waiting. Ground-floor scope, a pathway to equity, and a clear path to running coaching as we grow.
