Professional Engineer (Water and Wastewater)

McCafferty Brinson Consulting, LLC (MBC) is looking for a full-time Professional Engineer/Project Manager, with 4 to 10 years of relevant work experience, to be based in our Fort Lauderdale office.

This position entails engineering design and construction administration services related to potable water and reclaimed water treatment plants. Projects will have a focus on treatment process optimization, pumping and transmission systems, utility infrastructure, treatment plant hydraulics, permitting compliance, and funding assistance.

Typical Day:

Duties will include both in-office activities and field work (inspections, construction observation, etc.) including:

• Assist and work with Senior/Principal Engineers with preparation of engineering documents and managing projects from inception to completion.
• Administration of construction contracts and coordination of on-site resident project representation services.
• Coordination and participation of stakeholder meetings regarding project deliverables and construction progress.
• Supervise and train less experienced staff by providing leadership, guidance and review of work product.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

• Experience in water utility systems design and construction.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
• 4 to 10 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Revit.

Registration:

• Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Florida, or ability to obtain licensure by reciprocity within first six months of employment.

Interpersonal Skills:

• Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to supervise, coordinate, and manage engineering/technical staff. Supervise and train less experienced staff. Develop and maintain relationships with clients.
