Senior Java Software Engineer (Onsite interview)

Maxonic maintains a close and long-term relationship with our direct client. In support of their needs, we are looking for:

Job Title — JAVA Software Engineer

Duration — 6 to 9 Months

Pay Rate — 60/hr to 75/hr

Location — San Jose, California OR Raleigh, NC

Responsibilities:

The Customer Applications Software Engineer is responsible for building and maintaining web applications using Java, Kotlin and Spring frameworks. The ideal candidate is expected to have proven extensive experience building innovative web applications in Java and Spring framework.

What we're looking for

• A "can do" attitude, high energy, and creativity are required along with organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks.
• BS/MS degree or equivalent years of experience
• 5+ years of overall web development experience, preferably secure, scalable web applications using Java/Kotlin, Spring framework
• Expertise with web architecture, cross-platform integration, and building scalable applications in heterogeneous environments
• Expertise in microservices and related to it architectures and patterns, like event-driven architecture, CQRS
• Strong experience in Java (preferably 17 or later), Spring, Spring boot microservices, Web services (SOAP, REST)
• Experience with various design patterns and java object-oriented programming concepts
• Experience in one or more RDBMS such as Postgres (preferred)
• Experience in developing/managing REST API’s to support communication between systems
• Understanding of messaging systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ
• Knowledge of any cloud platforms such as Heroku, AWS
• Extensive knowledge and experience with Test-Driven Development and/or Behavior-Driven Development
• Familiarity in using tools such as JIRA, Git, BitBucket
• Excellent organizational, communication, presentation, and facilitation skills
• Experience with industry standard cloud technologies, i.e. Docker, Kubernetes
