DPN Collection | Hotel Ownership, Development & Management

About the Opportunity
DPN Collection is a growing hotel ownership, development, and management company seeking an accomplished Corporate Director of Finance & Accounting to lead its corporate and property-level financial operations. This is a hands-on leadership role with an opportunity to strengthen an established in-house accounting function, develop the team, enhance reporting and controls, and build the infrastructure needed to support continued portfolio growth.
Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, this leader will partner closely with executive management, regional leaders, and hotel General Managers. We are seeking more than a traditional controller: the successful candidate will combine technical accounting excellence with operational insight, sound judgment, and the ability to help hotel teams improve financial performance.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting, Reporting & Controls
• Lead the existing in-house accounting team and oversee all corporate and property-level accounting activities, including the monthly, quarterly, and annual close.
• Deliver timely, accurate financial statements; manage general ledger integrity, reconciliations, intercompany activity, fixed assets, and related accounting processes.
• Maintain consistent policies, standardized procedures, and strong internal controls across hotels and corporate entities, with compliance under GAAP, USALI, and applicable lender requirements.
Financial Planning & Operational Partnership
• Lead annual operating and capital budgets, monthly forecasting, cash flow projections, and financial performance analysis.
• Analyze profitability, labor productivity, departmental expenses, and variances to budget, forecast, and prior periods; translate findings into actionable recommendations.
• Partner with regional and property leaders to strengthen financial accountability and help General Managers understand and manage the business of their hotels.
Systems, Growth & Compliance
• Evaluate and improve accounting systems, integrations, reporting tools, and workflows; use automation to improve efficiency, consistency, and scalability.
• Oversee payroll accounting, treasury and cash controls, tax reporting coordination, lender reporting, and financial compliance.
• Support acquisitions, hotel openings, developments, renovations, capital projects, and integration of newly added properties.
• Visit properties periodically to review practices, reinforce controls, and provide practical financial guidance to hotel teams.
Team Leadership
• Lead, mentor, and develop existing accounting personnel; establish clear expectations, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Build strong working relationships with the COO, executive and regional leadership, ownership, and hotel General Managers.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred but not required.
• 7+ years of progressive hotel accounting financial management experience with proven leadership and multi-entity reporting capabilities.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, cash management, and financial reporting; advanced Excel skills.
• Hospitality and multi-property hotel accounting experience strongly preferred, including familiarity with USALI, property management systems, and hotel performance metrics. Outstanding candidates from comparable multi-location or asset-intensive businesses will also be considered.
• Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills; ability to work directly with operators and executive leadership.
What Success Looks Like
Accurate, timely financial reporting; disciplined reconciliations and controls; dependable forecasts and cash management; engaged, capable accounting staff; financially accountable hotel leaders; and scalable systems that support continued growth.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary of $115,000–$130,000, based on qualifications and experience, plus a target annual performance bonus equal to 15% of base salary, subject to established performance objectives. Medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k), and relocation assistance for qualified candidates.
