Data Scientist

Modis is seeking a Data Scientist for a Contract job with a client in Charlotte, NC(Hybrid). Ideally looking for applicants with a solid background in the financial services industry.

Rate Range: $60-65/Hr; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Job Summary

The client is looking for a “data head”—someone with strong hands-on experience analyzing, reconciling, and normalizing data, identifying patterns and discrepancies, and translating data into actionable information. The role will involve working with data pipelines, SQL, ETL processes, Python scripting, Tableau, and Airflow, along with recent experience using AI tools such as Copilot to improve productivity and analytical workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, inconsistencies, and actionable insights.
• Reconcile, cleanse, normalize, and validate data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Develop and maintain SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data.
• Support ETL processes and data integration workflows.
• Use Python scripting to automate data analysis, validation, and reporting tasks.
• Work with Apache Airflow to support and manage data workflow orchestration.
• Create, maintain, and enhance Tableau dashboards and visualization
