RGI events is growing our leadership team — and we're looking for an exceptional event producer who is ready to take the next step.
We are an award-winning strategic event production firm and design atelier creating highly considered experiences for leading corporations, global brands, nonprofit organizations, associations and government entities.
We believe exceptional events require extraordinary ideas and disciplined execution. The work must be beautiful. The strategy must be thoughtful. The details must be right. The client must feel taken care of. The project must stay on track — and it must perform financially.
That's where our Production Division Manager comes in.
THE ROLE
This is a mid-level leadership position for an accomplished event producer who is ready to move beyond simply managing their own projects and begin helping lead the people, processes and portfolio behind an entire production department.
You will work closely with RGI's CEO and company leadership while serving as the day-to-day leader of our Production team.
Your job is ultimately to make sure four things happen:
We produce exceptional work.
Our clients receive exceptional service.
Our projects are delivered on time.
Our projects are profitable.
You'll maintain visibility across multiple active events, guide and develop project teams, help solve problems before they become emergencies, protect production quality, monitor financial performance and step forward as a confident leadership presence for our clients and teams — both during planning and onsite.
This is not a role for someone who simply wants to check whether tasks have been completed.
We are looking for someone who naturally asks:
Is the project actually in a good place?
Is the work good enough?
Does the client feel confident?
Are we ahead of our deadlines?
Are we protecting the budget?
What could go wrong — and have we handled it already?
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
Production Quality
You'll help establish and maintain the standard for RGI's work across our portfolio — reviewing production plans, logistics, creative execution and client-facing deliverables and helping teams identify gaps before they reach the client or the event floor.
Client Experience
You'll build relationships with key clients, guide teams through expectation management and difficult conversations, participate in important client meetings and help ensure every client feels proactively and expertly supported.
Project Delivery
You'll maintain visibility into project schedules, deadlines, deliverables and dependencies across the department — identifying stalled work, competing priorities and risks early and helping teams keep projects moving.
We believe internal deadlines should come before client deadlines, and great production should not depend on last-minute heroics.
Budgets + Profitability
Beautiful events still need to make financial sense.
You'll work alongside our Finance + Operations leadership and project teams to monitor budgets, anticipated costs, scope changes and project profitability throughout production.
We want someone who understands that protecting margin and protecting creative quality are both part of producing a successful event.
Team Leadership
You'll manage, coach and develop members of our Production Department, establish clear expectations, provide direct feedback, help allocate workloads and resources, support training and create an environment where people become increasingly capable of owning their work.
We believe in high standards, clear accountability and giving talented people the support they need to become excellent at what they do.
Onsite Leadership
When the doors open, you'll be one of the people our clients and teams look to.
You'll oversee the project leads as they execute complex events onsite and keep the client experience seamless even when something unexpected is happening behind the scenes.
YOU MAY LOVE THIS ROLE IF...
- You are an excellent event producer who realizes you're increasingly becoming the person everyone else comes to for answers.
- You notice things other people miss.
- You take ownership without waiting to be asked.
- You are incredibly organized — but you're also capable of changing the plan when circumstances change.
- You know that assigned doesn't necessarily mean done.
- You can zoom out to see the big picture and zoom back in when one tiny detail could affect the entire guest experience.
- You're comfortable talking with a CEO, a client executive, a venue, a supplier and a junior team member — sometimes all within the same hour.
- You can give constructive feedback clearly and receive it just as well.
- You understand budgets and don't treat financial management as someone else's responsibility.
- You can say “no” or “not that way” to a client while still making them feel incredibly well cared for.
- When something goes wrong onsite, you get calmer.
- And you're excited by the idea of helping build an exceptional department rather than simply producing exceptional events yourself.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We're most interested in demonstrated capability, judgment and leadership potential.
Our ideal candidate brings:
• Approximately 5–7+ years of progressive event production experience, with meaningful experience independently managing sophisticated events
• Experience simultaneously managing multiple active projects
• Experience leading, supervising or mentoring other team members
• Strong client-management skills and confidence communicating with senior stakeholders
• Working knowledge of event budgeting, purchasing and cost management
• Exceptional organization and project-management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Strong judgment and independent problem-solving ability
• Comfort working within project-management, CRM and business-productivity platforms
• The ability to travel and work evenings/weekends when the event calendar requires it
A bachelor's degree in events, hospitality, communications, business or a related field is preferred, but meaningful professional experience matters more to us than a particular educational path.
