About this opportunity
Atascadero Glass is a well-established, mid-sized commercial glazing contractor founded in 1963. With 50+ team members, we specialize in sophisticated commercial work—curtain walls, storefronts, skylights, heavy glass entries, and more—primarily for K-12 education, government, community colleges, medical, and higher-end commercial projects across a wide Central California footprint (Ventura to San Jose / Bakersfield to Fresno).
We’re looking for a hands-on Project Manager who will take full ownership of 10–12 concurrent commercial glazing projects from LOI/NTP through construction and closeout.
What You’ll Own
- End-to-end project ownership: communication with customers, GCs, vendors, and internal teams
- Coordinate projects for fabrication and placing material orders
- Managing change orders, RFIs, punch lists, warranties, and closeout documents
- Solving complex hardware and technical issues independently (not escalating them)
- Keeping multiple projects moving under pressure while protecting schedule and quality
This is a high-impact seat. The right person will free up senior PMs to help launch a new design & engineering fabrication division and allow the company to continue its measured growth while protecting work-life balance.
Who Thrives Here
Self-motivated, assertive, and gritty people who run toward problems rather than around them. Deep commercial glazing and/or public-works experience is a strong plus—this combination is genuinely rare. Past candidates who lacked technical aptitude or struggled to settle into Central Coast living did not succeed.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $100,000 – $140,000 depending on experience
- Medical, Dental & Vision insurance
- 401(k) with company match + Life Insurance
- 2 weeks PTO + 5 paid sick days
- Family-first culture and work-life balance (work is being booked for 2028)
- Stable company targeting measured ~8% annual growth
Central Coast Living
Coastal lifestyle, strong schools, outdoor recreation, and the ocean minutes away. Atascadero offers a high quality of life without the density of larger metro areas. (Note: regional housing costs can be a factor for relocating candidates—we address this openly during the process.)
Interview Process
- Screening interview
- Predictive Index assessment
- On-site interview (facility tour + opportunity for you and your spouse to explore the community and drive to the ocean)
- Background check & drug screen
We move quickly. Ideal start is shortly after an offer is accepted. Immediate need; long-term fit is the priority.
