Controller/ Accounting Manager

We're Hiring: Controller/Accounting Manager – Real Estate Family Office

📍 Location: Englewood, NJ | In-Office

We are a growing, privately held commercial real estate family office based in Englewood, NJ, seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Controller/Accounting Manager to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial real estate accounting, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to independently oversee financial reporting and day-to-day accounting operations across a diverse commercial real estate portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping for multiple real estate entities and properties.

Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger activity.

Track rental income, operating expenses, CAM reconciliations, and property-level financial performance.

Oversee budgeting, cash flow management, and financial reporting to ownership and investors.

Coordinate with external accountants, tax professionals, lenders, and property management teams.

Maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely reporting across multiple entities.

Qualifications:

5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in commercial real estate.

Strong understanding of real estate accounting and multi-entity financial reporting.

Proficiency in Yardi and Microsoft Excel

Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities independently.

Strong communication skills and a proactive, hands-on approach.
