Senior Business Development Consultant, Construction Management Services (1099 Independent Contractor)

**About Us**

HCMC is a Florida-based Owner's Representative and construction management firm. Since 2018 we have guided projects from concept to completion, protecting our clients' interests and keeping work on time and on budget. Our "Owner-First" model means we are never aligned with contractors or vendors. Our team of builders, designers, engineers, and permit professionals is led by Sam Hodge, who has 40 years of experience and has overseen nearly $4 billion in construction. We serve HOAs, condominium associations, property managers, developers, and hospitality owners.

**The Opportunity**

Florida condo and HOA boards are working through SIRS reports, Milestone inspections, and major repair projects, often without any construction expertise. We help them write clear scopes, compare bids side by side, and keep projects under control. We are looking for a senior business development professional who knows this audience and can build our pipeline through strong relationships and smart online marketing.

**What You'll Do**

- Build and manage a pipeline of HOA/COA boards, community association managers, and property management companies across South Florida

- Represent HCMC at CAI chapter events and other industry gatherings

- Create and run a referral partner program with attorneys, engineers, reserve study providers, and other professionals

- Present HCMC's services and our Paid Project Assessment (a $5,000 credit toward our fees if retained) to boards and decision-makers

- Plan and run SEO, content, LinkedIn, and paid advertising efforts that generate qualified inquiries

- Work with Sam and the team on proposals and hand off qualified opportunities smoothly

- Track activity in a CRM and report results on a regular cadence

**What You Bring**

- 8+ years of B2B business development or sales, ideally selling professional or construction-related services

- A working network among South Florida associations, property managers, or related professionals

- Hands-on SEO and online marketing experience: keyword strategy, content, analytics, LinkedIn, and paid campaigns

- A consultative, educational selling style that earns trust with volunteer boards

- Excellent written and verbal communication

- A self-directed approach and a track record of working independently on variable pay

- Comfortable with local travel across South Florida

**Nice to Have**

- Knowledge of Florida condo and HOA issues (SB 4-D, SIRS, Milestone inspections)

- CAI involvement or a construction, engineering, restoration, or reserve study background

- Experience building referral programs

- CRM experience (HubSpot or similar)

- Video or social media content experience

**Compensation**

- Monthly retainer plus uncapped commission on collected fees from engagements you source

- Target total earnings of $100,000-$150,000+ per year, depending on performance

- Marketing tools and event costs discussed during the interview process

**The Arrangement**

This is a 1099 independent contractor role. You set your own schedule and methods, work from your own location, and may take on other work as long as it does not conflict with HCMC. Regular check-ins by video call.
