About this opportunity
Member of Technical Staff, Product and Design — Product Management & Product Design for the Agent Platform
Type: Full-time
About Hussh
Hussh is an AI-first research, machine-learning, and product organization. We are building Private Agent One: a private personal AI agent — personal superintelligence that works for one human, and one human only. The human owns their information, controls it, and shares it only by explicit consent, through our PCHP (Personal Consent Handshake Protocol). Nothing moves — not a dollar, not a message, not a datum — without the human's delegation.
We also run a permanent-capital asset-management business (Fund A). The lab works from Kirkland, WA, with research partnerships at IIT Kharagpur and Stony Brook's AI3 institute. We are founder-funded. Product truth here is not a slide deck: it is the document engineering builds against, and it is written by this role.
The role
You own product for Private Agent One: what the agent does, for whom, in what order — and the design of the experiences that carry it. This is one role because at founding scale they are one job: the person who decides what to build must be the person who designs how it feels, and vice versa.
You work backwards from the customer. Every job to be done, named in plain words. Every roadmap item justified by a human outcome, not a capability demo. Every design decision tested against one question: does this make the human more capable, more in control, and more trusting of the agent?
What you will do
• Own the Private Agent One product definition and roadmap: capabilities, sequencing, and the explicit tradeoffs that keep the product coherent as it grows.
• Design the core experiences end to end: onboarding and trust formation, consent and delegation, agent planning and approval, memory and personalization, and the moments when the agent must say "I need you."
• Define the agent-approval contract: what the agent may do autonomously, what requires a human's explicit approval, and what it must never do — and make that contract visible and legible in the product itself.
• Instrument the product honestly: event design, funnel and retention analysis, experimentation — and the discipline to report the metrics that hurt, not only the ones that flatter.
• Own the economics of the product surface: subscription design, pricing and packaging, free-to-paid conversion, and the unit economics that prove the product can sustain itself without selling the user.
• Run user research as a habit: interviews, usability sessions, and field time with the people the agent serves, and let what you learn change the roadmap in public.
Expectations
• You think in human jobs, not feature lists, and you can write the one-paragraph product truth a whole team can build against.
• You say no — with a better yes — to the CEO, to engineering, and to yourself. Fewer elements, each one earned.
• You are accountable for outcomes after launch: adoption, retention, referral, and trust metrics. Shipping is the start of the job, not the end.
• You hold the privacy line in product form: growth that depends on exploiting the user's information is not growth, and you will kill it.
Required qualifications
• 10+ years of experience spanning product management and product design for consumer software, with a record of shipping products people use daily.
• The last 5 years building AI products — assistants, agents, or ML-driven experiences — with depth in at least one of: personal information management, productivity and knowledge work, or agent systems.
• A shipped record in both disciplines: roadmaps and product definitions that engineering built against, and designs that shipped on iOS, Android, web, or desktop at scale.
• Subscription economics fluency: pricing, packaging, paywalls, trial and conversion design, churn and retention levers — with numbers you can show.
• Analytical depth: you write your own SQL, design your own experiments, and read a retention curve the way an engineer reads a stack trace.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience demonstrated in shipped products.
Product and technical requirements
• Product craft: jobs-to-be-done definition, opportunity sizing, roadmap and spec writing, prioritization under real constraint, and stakeholder management without politics.
• Design craft: Figma at expert level (systems, variables, prototyping); interaction and visual design for native and web; accessibility as a baseline, not a backlog item.
• Data and experimentation: SQL fluency; analytics platforms (Amplitude, Mixpanel, or equivalent); A/B testing and causal inference at a level where you can call out a bad experiment.
• Platform and monetization tooling: App Store and Play subscription systems (StoreKit, Play Billing); web checkout (Stripe-class); entitlement and access control for subscription products.
• AI product fluency: working command of LLM capabilities and limits, agent architectures, evaluation methods, and the product risks that come with non-deterministic systems.
• Relevance literacy: how ranking, recommendation, and ads systems shape user experience and business models — and why we are building the alternative.
Compensation
Base salary: $250,000–$360,000 USD per year, plus a founding equity grant (4-year vest). Where you land in the range depends on experience and shipped outcomes. Founding titles are permanent: no future re-leveling takes yours away.
Benefits
Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage. A 401(k) plan. Employer-matched contributions to Trump Accounts. Support for continuing education, retooling, and retraining — including AI courses, which we actively encourage. Above all: you will work with the latest AI technologies every day, and the expectation — for engineers and non-engineers alike — is to become expert in using them, running evals on your own work until it reaches an A+ standard.
Benefits are subject to the terms of the applicable plans and to eligibility requirements, in accordance with federal and state law.
We read every note ourselves.
Hussh is an equal opportunity employer. We hire on merit, competence, and qualifications, and do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, gender, age, disability, or any other characteristic protected by law.
1. Tell us about a product decision you made with incomplete data that turned out right — the signal you trusted, the KPI you moved, and by how much.
2. Describe a consent, privacy, or trust surface you designed or shipped — the choice you put in front of the user, and what the usage data showed.
3. Pick a feature you killed: the evidence, the stakeholder you had to convince, and what shipping it would have cost.
