Allegiance Group is partnering with a well-established mechanical contractor to recruit an experienced HVAC Foreman for their growing team.

Our client delivers mechanical and HVAC projects for commercial and high-rise residential buildings across all five boroughs of New York City.

As HVAC Foreman, you’ll lead field crews on high-end projects, coordinating daily site operations and maintaining the highest standards of workmanship. You’ll help keep work safe and on schedule while ensuring each project is completed with care and attention to detail.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead and coordinate HVAC technicians, installers, and apprentices on site.
• Plan daily work, assign tasks, and keep crews aligned with project schedules.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, equipment schedules, and submittals.
• Oversee HVAC installation, start-up, testing, and commissioning.
• Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, other trades, suppliers, and clients.
• Check work for quality, code compliance, and alignment with design intent.
• Maintain clean, organised sites and protect finished surfaces, furnishings, and occupied spaces.
• Promote safe work practices and make sure crews use appropriate tools and protective equipment.
• Track labour, materials, deliveries, and site conditions; raise issues and changes promptly.
• Coach apprentices and technicians, and support inspections, punch lists, and project closeout.

Requirements:

• Several years of hands-on HVAC installation or service experience, including crew leadership.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, installation practices, and applicable mechanical codes.
• Ability to read construction drawings, specifications, and equipment documentation.
• Experience coordinating work with other trades and responding to changing site conditions.
• Good communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
• A valid driver’s licence and ability to travel to job sites.
• EPA Section 608 certification, where applicable.
• Any state or local HVAC licence required for the role.

You should have:

• Experience with high-end residential, custom-home, hospitality, or premium commercial projects.
• Pride in precise, detail-oriented workmanship and a strong eye for finish quality.
• A professional, respectful approach when working in clients’ homes and occupied buildings.
• Confidence leading a crew while working collaboratively with project teams.
• Experience with systems such as VRF, heat pumps, boilers, chillers, controls, or custom ductwork.
• Commissioning, controls integration, or energy-efficient equipment experience.
• OSHA safety training or equivalent
