Role Description.

We’re hiring an experienced California litigator to join our Los Angeles office. Your docket will mix employment with business litigation, where we represent both plaintiffs and defendants.

This role is for someone who is ready to run their own cases. You’ll manage matters from intake through resolution and work closely with the principal attorney on strategy. If you’re coming from Big Law and want more ownership of your cases and a better work-life balance, this is a strong fit. You’ll still get sophisticated work and real client contact.

Responsibilities include:

• Managing a caseload of employment and business litigation matters, including case strategy and client communication
• Drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, and other written work
• Taking and defending depositions and handling discovery disputes
• Appearing at hearings, case management conferences, and mediations
• Preparing cases for arbitration and trial
• Negotiating settlements and advising clients on risk and resolution options
• Handling wage-and-hour, PAGA, retaliation, wrongful termination, contract, partnership, and commercial disputes

This is a full-time hybrid role based in our Los Angeles office. We’ll make exceptions to the hybrid schedule for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years of litigation experience. Please do not apply if you don’t have litigation experience.
• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Active California Bar admission (required). New York Bar admission is a plus.
• Comfortable running your own cases with little supervision
• Hands-on experience with written discovery, depositions, and law and motion practice
• Strong legal research and writing skills
• Clear, confident communication with clients, opposing counsel, and the court
• Organized and able to manage multiple matters and deadlines
• Experience in employment litigation (plaintiff or defense) or business litigation preferred
• Interest in or familiarity with the cannabis industry is a plus but not required

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $100,000 to $130,000, plus annual bonus, depending on experience
