About this opportunity
Medical Malpractice Defense Attorney | Philadelphia, PA | 2 to 10 yrs | $110,000 to $200,000 | Medical Malpractice Defense
Your own cases and depositions early, with partners who mentor closely. For a medical malpractice defense attorney in Philadelphia, that combination of responsibility and support is the fastest way to become genuinely good at this work.
Med mal is technical, high stakes and deeply rewarding when it’s done well. This firm defends healthcare providers and institutions in complex claims, and it develops lawyers by giving them real files and real guidance at the same time.
The work
- Defense of physicians, hospitals and healthcare institutions in malpractice claims
- Medical record review and close work with expert witnesses
- Depositions of physicians, nurses, plaintiffs and experts
- Motions, mediations and trial preparation
- Regular contact with healthcare clients and their risk managers
What I’m looking for
- Admission to the Pennsylvania Bar
- 2 to 10 years of medical malpractice or healthcare liability defense experience
- Comfort with clinical material and a methodical approach to complex records
How the mentoring works
Partners pair attorneys with experienced trial lawyers on major cases, explain the reasoning behind expert choices and strategy, and prepare you properly before key depositions. As your judgment develops, the files get bigger and the oversight gets lighter.
How the role scales
Attorneys earlier in their careers build skills quickly with their own cases. More experienced lawyers lead files, take first chair at trial and develop relationships with healthcare clients. The salary range is broad so that experience is properly paid.
Why healthcare clients make this work special
Physicians often feel a claim personally in a way corporate clients don’t. Lawyers who explain the process and prepare them carefully earn deep loyalty, and those relationships last for years.
Pace and flexibility
The office runs hybrid, and the firm is flexible about how you organize your week. Trial schedules are planned well ahead so they don’t take over your life.
Why move
Real responsibility, real mentoring and serious medical cases in one of the busiest healthcare markets in the country.
