Seasonal Snow Plowing & Equipment Operator

Landscapes Unlimited is seeking experienced Snow Plowing & Equipment Operators to join our winter snow removal team. Operators clear snow and ice from commercial properties while protecting customer property and maintaining safe access for vehicles and pedestrians.

This position requires dependable attendance and availability when snow or ice events occur, including overnight shifts, early mornings, weekends, and holidays.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate assigned snow removal equipment, including plow trucks, skid steers, and front-end loaders.
• Clear parking lots, drive lanes, access roads, and other designated areas according to site instructions.
• Follow property maps, assigned routes, snow stacking locations, and service priorities.
• Apply salt and deicing materials as directed.
• Work around parked vehicles, buildings, curbs, landscaping, and pedestrians with care.
• Complete equipment inspections before and after each shift.
• Report equipment problems, property damage, hazards, and injuries immediately.
• Communicate site conditions, progress, and delays to the assigned supervisor.
• Coordinate with sidewalk crews and other operators to complete properties efficiently.
• Accurately record work time, site visits, and completed services using company systems.
• Refuel, clean, and return equipment to its designated location after each shift.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating plow trucks, skid steers, or loaders; two years of snow removal experience preferred.
• Ability to safely operate assigned equipment in snow, ice, darkness, and limited visibility.
• Reliable transportation to the assigned reporting location.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record for positions requiring operation of company vehicles.
• Ability to follow site maps, safety instructions, and supervisor direction.
• Strong attention to detail and respect for customer property.
• Dependable communication and the ability to work independently or as part of a crew.
• Availability to respond to snow event notifications and work assigned shifts.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Work in freezing temperatures, snow, wind, and wet or icy conditions.
• Sit and operate equipment for extended periods, with required breaks.
• Safely enter and exit equipment and walk across uneven or slippery surfaces.
• Perform occasional shoveling and assist with other snow removal tasks as needed.
• Perform the essential duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Wear weather-appropriate clothing and required personal protective equipment.
• Promptly report fatigue, cold stress, or unsafe operating conditions.

Schedule

This is a seasonal, weather-dependent position. Hours and shift lengths vary based on snow accumulation, ice conditions, and customer needs. Extended shifts may be required during major snow events. Hours are not guaranteed.
