Superintendent | Large Base Build or High-End Interiors / Tenant Fit-Out | DC Metro (DC, MD, Northern VA)
SL Recruit is partnering with a well-known and highly respected general contractor in the DC Metro area to find an experienced Superintendent. This is a direct-hire opportunity with an established firm known for quality work, strong client relationships, and the way it treats its field teams.
Who we’re looking for
A Superintendent with experience on either large base build projects or high-end, high-value interiors and tenant fit-out work, who wants a long-term home with a GC that has a reputation worth being part of.
What you’ll do
- Lead all day-to-day field operations from mobilization through closeout
- Build and manage the project schedule, including look-aheads, sequencing, and trade coordination
- Direct subcontractors and self-perform crews, holding them to schedule and quality standards
- Run a safe jobsite and enforce safety and quality control programs
- Work closely with project managers, architects, owners, and inspectors to resolve field issues, RFIs, and change conditions
- Manage inspections, punch list, and project turnover
What you bring
- A proven record as a Superintendent (typically 7+ years) on one or both of the following:
- – Large base build projects: ground-up and major building construction
- – High-end or high-value interiors and tenant fit-outs, including occupied buildings, phased work, and demanding finish standards
- Strong command of scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and quality control
- OSHA 30 and a commitment to jobsite safety
- Comfort with Procore or similar project management software
- Clear communication and the leadership to manage trades and field teams
