Title: Solution Designer

Location: NY (Onsite twice a week)

Duration: 6-11 Months

NOTE: Investment Banking experience is MUST

Job Description:

Solution Designer with 10+ years of technology experience, strong expertise in enterprise application development using technologies such as C#/.NET, Java, or equivalent, and strong knowledge of at least one investment banking domain, such as Front Office, Middle Office, Operations, Risk, Finance, or Compliance.

The role translates business requirements into practical application and integration designs, working with business analysts, developers, and architects to deliver solutions aligned with established architecture standards, domain-driven design principles, and governance requirements.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop solution designs covering application components, interfaces, data flows, and deployment requirements.
• Design enterprise applications and microservices using appropriate technologies, defining clear service boundaries and interactions.
• Apply domain-driven design (DDD) principles,
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications, sequence diagrams, and detailed design documents.
• Address performance, scalability, resilience, security, and maintainability within solution designs.
• Guide development teams through implementation, resolve design questions, and participate in code and design reviews.
• Design integrations with existing investment banking platforms and support progressive modernisation of legacy applications.
• Incorporate monitoring, access controls, auditability, and recovery requirements.
• Support architecture and design governance by presenting designs for review, documenting key decisions, and ensuring adherence to approved standards, patterns, and controls.

Experience and skills:

• 10+ years of relevant experience, including hands-on enterprise application development and application or solution design.
• Strong understanding of workflows, systems, and data within at least one investment banking domain.
• Expertise in an enterprise technology stack, such as C#/.NET or Java, including application frameworks, data persistence, and REST API development.
• Practical experience applying domain-driven design, including bounded contexts, aggregates, and domain events.
• Experience designing microservices, distributed systems, and asynchronous messaging integrations.
• Understanding of architecture governance, design assurance, and security and regulatory requirements in financial services.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
• Ability to explain technical designs clearly and work effectively with business stakeholders and engineering teams in an Agile environment.
