Universal Banker – Baton Rouge

Bank of Zachary is seeking a highly motivated individual for a full-time Universal Banker position at our new Baton Rouge branch, located off Highland Road. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with teller, cash-handling, customer-service, or retail-sales experience who is interested in building a career with opportunities for growth and development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Teller & Customer Service Functions

• Perform standard teller transactions (receive and pay funds).
• Sell cashier’s checks, gift cards, and other negotiable items.
• Assist customers with safe deposit box access.
• Balance teller drawer and assist with ATM and vault balancing.
• Answer phones, greet customers, and provide prompt, professional assistance.
• Complete CTRs and SARs as required.
• Prepare and process change orders.
• Perform clerical and administrative duties as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of bank products, services, and associated fees.
• Remain proficient in Federal and State banking regulations and internal policies.

Account Opening & Retail Banking

• Open all consumer and business deposit accounts.
• Open specialized accounts such as trust, estate, and fiduciary accounts.
• Assist customers with IRA accounts and inquiries.
• Transition seamlessly between teller line and platform responsibilities.
• Utilize online banking and digital account opening tools, including chat systems.
• Provide education and guidance to customers regarding bank products and digital services.

General Requirements

• Participate in ongoing training and continuing education.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and reach as needed.

Qualifications

• One (1) to two (2) years’ banking experience (teller or customer service representative required).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Demonstrated cash-handling accuracy.
• Proficient with bank operating systems, online platforms, teller terminals, and cash dispensers.
• Must be able to travel between branch locations as needed.
• Strong communication skills and commitment to customer service excellence.
