Multi-Line Field Adjuster

West Nebraska Claims Service (WNCS) is Nebraska's largest multi-line independent adjusting firm. Founded in 1983, our adjusters bring more than 200 years of combined experience across a wide range of property, auto and liability losses. We are growing and are looking for qualified multi-line adjusters to fill multiple territory positions in Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa and South Dakota.

Role Description

This is a full-time, field position covering an assigned territory, with travel within that territory and minimal overnight stays. Openings are available for both property/casualty field adjusters and auto field adjusters. Territories include Scottsbluff, Sidney, Ogallala, North Platte, Kearney, Grand Island, Columbus, Norfolk, Lincoln and Omaha. The role supports our goal of delivering exceptional claim service to customers while meeting each carrier's expectations and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Handle 1st and 3rd party claims under multiple companies, policies and endorsements
• Conduct on-site inspections, evaluate damages, and handle claim negotiations
• Investigate cause and origin of losses, working with insureds, claimants, agents, contractors, shops, and carrier staff and experts
• Write property and auto estimates and carry out liability investigations
• Interpret policies, endorsements and coverages, and follow carrier guidelines
• Identify complex issues and seek direction from insurance companies
• Respond to company requests, make appropriate decisions, and close files in a timely manner
• Keep all parties informed of the claim process and status

Qualifications

• Experience in property and casualty adjusting preferred; we are able to provide training
• Multi-line adjusters with farm and agricultural claims experience are strongly preferred
• Experience with Farmers Mutual of Nebraska or Farm Bureau is a plus
• Experience handling 1st and 3rd party, multi-line, moderately complex claims
• Property estimating software: Xactimate and/or Symbility
• Auto estimating software: Mitchell and/or CCC; for the auto position, experience estimating passenger vehicles, heavy machinery, semi-tractor/trailers and recreational vehicles is preferred
• Solid understanding of policies, endorsements and the claim handling process
• Strong communication, interpersonal and time management skills; able to manage your own workload
• Self-motivated, customer-driven and detail-oriented
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
• State-specific claims licensing as required
• Able to set up and climb a ladder for roof inspections and work outdoors in all weather conditions
