About this opportunity

Join Our Leadership Team at Omaha Car Care! We are searching for a high-performing, people-first Assistant Manager / Service Advisor to join our family-owned auto repair network in Omaha, Nebraska.

If you have experience as a service writer at a dealership but are tired of corporate metrics that put sales targets over people, you’ll love it here. At Omaha Car Care, our assistant managers act as trusted advisors and educators. You will be the vital face of our business, welcoming our clients, managing shop workflow, and counseling drivers to help them make safe, informed decisions about their vehicles.

Why Make the Switch to Omaha Car Care?

  • Relationships Over Quotas: We built our business on one founding principle: nothing is more important than our relationship with the customer. We hire advisors who care about people, not high-pressure sales pitches.
  • True Work-Life Balance: Dealership schedules can burn you out. We operate strictly Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. No weekends, no late nights.
  • Four Premium Local Facilities: You will be supporting a respected local brand with deep community roots across our four Omaha locations (132nd & Dodge, 59th & Center, 84th & L Street, and144th & Harrison). Soon to be five as we're building a new store in Gretna.
  • Customer Care Tools: We set you up for success. Because we offer free loaner cars with scheduled appointments, you can easily help customers stay mobile without stress while their vehicles are in our bays.

Responsibilities

  • Customer Counseling & Education: Act as the primary link between the customer and the shop. Listen to customer concerns, explain diagnostic findings clearly, and counsel them transparently on what their vehicle needs.
  • Service Writing & Estimating: Create precise, thorough service orders and cost estimates. Translate complex technical data from our technicians into clear, understandable language for the client.
  • Shop Workflow Management: Coordinate with the service team and technicians to schedule maintenance, prioritize tasks, track vehicle progress, and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Parts Procurement: Source and order required vehicle components efficiently, ensuring the shop stays productive and wait times remain minimized.
  • Operational Leadership: Assist the Shop Manager with daily administrative duties, customer issue resolution, billing, and ensuring the storefront remains welcoming and clean.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience as an Automotive Service Advisor, Service Writer, or Assistant Shop Manager (dealership or independent repair shop experience preferred).
  • Exceptional communication skills and an empathetic, patient, counseling-based approach to customer service.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid baseline knowledge of vehicle systems and routine automotive maintenance (brakes, suspension, diagnostics, fluids, etc.).
  • Proficiency with standard automotive shop management software and digital inspection tools.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary Range: $60,000 – $85,000+ yearly. Dependent upon experience.
  • Paid holidays and accrued paid time off (PTO).
  • Ongoing professional training, career development, and paths to full Shop Management positions.
  • We pay 50% of your FAMILY'S health insurance and have employer-paid vision/dental. We also have a generous matching 401k.
