About this opportunity

Litigation Attorney, Bodily Injury Defense | Miami, FL | $125,000 to $200,000 | Bodily Injury / Personal Injury

Backup matters more than branding. When a bodily injury file turns ugly (a surprise surgery, a new treating doctor, a demand with a short fuse), what you want is a partner who picks up the phone and helps you think.

I'm Ryan Jaiswal at Distinct Recruitment, and I'm hiring a bodily injury defense attorney in Miami for an insurance defense firm where that kind of support is part of how the team works.

Snapshot

• Hybrid, Miami

• 1,950 billable hours

• $125,000 to $200,000

A typical month

• Several depositions, from plaintiffs to treating providers and life care planners

• Hearings you argue yourself

• Mediations where you're the one presenting the evaluation

• Trial preparation, and trials when cases need trying

• Reporting to adjusters who rely on your judgment

Requirements

• Florida Bar membership

• 2+ years of litigation experience in insurance defense or bodily injury work

Growth

The pay range is set wide intentionally. It lets the firm hire properly across experience levels. If you're senior, you'll take on the larger exposure cases, lead trials, supervise colleagues and build client relationships of your own, with a quicker path to partner. If you're mid level, you'll get the exposure that gets you there.

A word on the practice

Bodily injury defense is often treated as a stepping stone. It shouldn't be. The lawyers who master it understand medicine, juries and money better than most, and those skills carry straight into bigger cases. Done well, it's one of the most complete trial practices in insurance defense.

What I'd ask you to think about

How much of your week is spent on work you'd describe as lawyering, and how much on chasing, formatting and waiting for sign off? If the balance has tipped the wrong way, this is worth a look.
