At this firm, they’re spent in court.

I’m recruiting for a mid sized insurance defense firm with four Virginia offices, and they’re adding an associate in Fairfax. They want someone who’d rather learn on their feet in front of a judge than at a desk.

Where you’ll be

• In court early and often. Depositions, motions, hearings and jury trials.
• On the phone with national carriers from day one. The client relationship is yours to build.
• Across general liability, workers’ comp and motor carrier work, with multiple practice groups to try.

Who you’ll learn from

• Partners who’ve tried hundreds of cases between them, and still sit down with associates to go through them.
• A low ego team with flexible hours.
• Stable leadership and long careers. The firm promotes from within, so the people who train you are the people who came up the same way.

The money

• $120,000 to $200,000. The range is wide because they’ll hire at two levels: a newer attorney toward the start or someone with 2 to 6 years toward the top.
• Hybrid working considered. Ask me how the week usually looks.

What you’ll need

• A JD and an active Virginia license.
