Senior Project Executive

Portfolio Executive - Utility-Scale Solar & BESS

Location: Midwest US (Remote) or Phoenix, AZ | Up to 50% Travel

Amica Talent is partnering with an established renewable energy EPC business to appoint a Portfolio Executive to lead a portfolio of utility-scale solar and battery storage projects across the Midwest.

This is a senior leadership opportunity with full portfolio P&L responsibility, oversight of Project Managers and Senior Project Managers, and ownership of key customer relationships. You’ll combine commercial leadership with a strong understanding of electrical construction to deliver safe, profitable projects and develop the team around you.

The role

• Own portfolio budgets, forecasts, financial performance and project outcomes.

• Lead and develop PMs and Senior PMs across multiple projects.

• Oversee delivery from engineering and procurement through construction, commissioning and closeout.

• Build strong customer relationships, support repeat business and lead portfolio reviews.

• Work closely with engineering, procurement, construction, safety and quality teams to resolve challenges and maintain delivery commitments.

• Strengthen union relationships and support effective labour planning across a heavily union project portfolio.

• Improve delivery methods, productivity and cost competitiveness while maintaining safety and quality.

What we’re looking for

• A strong electrical construction background, ideally within utility-scale solar, BESS or related power infrastructure.

• Demonstrated P&L responsibility for portfolios or business units exceeding $100 million.

• Experience leading multiple PMs and developing senior project delivery teams.

• Significant experience delivering projects in union environments, particularly across the Midwest.

• Direct experience working with union halls and local unions, including IBEW, with an understanding of manpower planning and labour relations.

• Experience establishing, negotiating or administering Project Labor Agreements (PLAs) would be particularly valuable.

• Strong commercial judgment across contracts, forecasting, customer negotiations and subcontractor management.

• A track record of improving project execution and building lasting customer relationships.

Location and travel

The position can be based remotely within the Midwest or in Scottsdale, Arizona, with up to 50% travel. Relocation assistance to Scottsdale is available. Visa sponsorship is not available.
