About this opportunity
Landlord-Tenant Litigation Associate (Nassau and Suffolk only, no NYC)
Long Island Eviction Law Firm, PLLC | Babylon, NY
$100,000 to $125,000 based on experience, plus bonuses
If you went to law school to be in a courtroom and you’re still doing discovery, this is the job.
We represent landlords in residential and commercial evictions across Nassau and Suffolk. Every appearance is in Nassau or Suffolk District Court, with the occasional East End town justice court. No NYC.
You will be in court every week: negotiating and drafting stipulations, arguing motions, trying contested cases. Off the calendar you’ll draft predicate notices, pleadings and the occasional opposition to a motion. Training is in court with the founding attorney until you are first-chairing eviction trials on your own. No landlord-tenant experience needed; we teach it. What we can’t teach is wanting to be in court.
Pay base is tiered. You come in at the tier you qualify for and move up as you hit the next one.
$100,000. Newly admitted or little courtroom experience. You second-chair and draft under review while you learn the practice.
$115,000. You can run your own court calendar and your own files start to finish. Two or three years of litigation experience usually puts you here on day one.
$125,000. You first-chair our eviction trials and contested matters without a supervising attorney, and you’ve done at least three of them.
There’s no clock on moving up. Hit the next tier and you get the base raise, with quarterly bonuses on top. No billable hours, no origination requirements. Intake and client management are handled; you go to court & litigate. Evictions don’t slow down in a recession.
Admitted in New York. Remote on non-court days after training.
